| Disassembly of the engine is performed by a licensed mechanic who begins the inspection process as he removes components noting defects in written from. After disassembly parts are degreased with pressure hot water and soap in a washing machine. They are then given a final cleaning in a high powered ultrasonic cleaning machine. They then undergo the various applicable inspection procedures such as mangnafulx and dye penetrant inspection as well as plain old visual and dimensional checks. | |||||||

| The camshaft is inspected to determine if it is a candidate for regrinding. | The crankcase is visually inspected for fretting. If fretted it goes out for rework by a specialist. If not, it gets stripped and DYE Penentrant inspected and will be reinstalled if it passes. |
